Beth’s career began early as she was raised in a family of entrepreneurs and worked in each of the family businesses learning sales, marketing, customer service and purchasing. As a young mom, Beth returned to college earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Technology and Education and went on to study Educational Leadership. Her career in public education began as a special education assistant and ended as a high school vice principal.
In 1998, Beth left public education for the non-profit sector beginning at Project Adventure, Inc. an international non-profit and training firm working with schools, agencies and corporations across the world. She supervised business development and marketing as well as worked with clients consulting on programmatic implementation. She was elected to the National Alternative Education Board of Directors for two terms.
In 2009, Beth was recruited to serve as Director of Operations for the National Indian Youth Leadership Project in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Her role was to coach and develop staff so they could move into leadership positions and develop experiential curriculum and training for implementation in tribes across North America.
In 2011, Beth was hired by the Central Coast Literacy Council as Executive Director. Under Beth’s guidance the organization developed a strategic plan, revitalized the mission, increased funding by 25%, attracted corporate partners and engaged the Board of Directors in fundraising and outreach. Beth guided a restructure of the organization to better meet the needs of community and following her departure served as a consultant and coach to the new Executive Director.
Beth has participated in the writing of over $5 million successfully funded grant applications. She has served as a ghostwriter and coach for several publications and articles. She is co-creator of the Leadership Method©, a strengths-based approach to improving work groups and teams, author of Let Go of the ROCK – a new look into the dynamics of self management and creator of Challenge by Choice© Horsemanship, a methodology for working with horses and riders. She is also a certified Equus Coach through Koelle Simpson LLC.
Amy Burford is a team member at Beth Wonson Consulting. Amy helps clients reconnect with their personal power and integrate it daily in their professional lives through both social and emotional skill awareness. Amy believes that the workplace is a perfect environment to develop the self-awareness and skills that will unlock our latent potential and uplift every aspect of our lives – and the lives of others.
Amy has a bachelors degree in Marketing from Bradley University and a MBA in E-business from DePaul University. Amy’s corporate experience includes 20 years in the technology industry working in various positions within both product and services companies. Her primary role is a sales executive targeting North American service providers. Throughout her career she’s mentored and trained individual clients around the world in sales, productivity, leadership and personal development.
Betsey Nash, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, Nash HR Services
Betsey has been a collaborator with Beth Wonson Consulting since 2012. Her engaging style, energy, sense of humor and expertise assure clients they will operate within the best practice in relation to human resources. Betsey brings more than 25 years of expertise in the areas of labor law compliance, leave of absence administration, hiring policies & procedures, policy & procedure manuals, employee handbooks, leadership assessments, and manager & employee training. She also provides personal mentoring and training for employees thrust into the HR role. Other training topics include Sexual Harassment, Supervision, Performance Management, Temperament & Team Development, Hiring & Retention, Leadership, and more. Betsey is a certified trainer for WorkTraits Compatibility System and Certified Facilitator: National Curriculum & Training Institute’s Real Colors® temperament workshops. She holds the highest certification in the human resources field, Senior Human Resources Manager and has developed several proprietary instruments for employee performance evaluation and feedback.
Betsey has held the position of HR Manager for The Home Depot, District HR Manager for Bed Bath & Beyond, HR Director for United Staffing Associates, and HR Director of Strasbaugh and Associates.
Betsey serves as Vice President of the San Luis Obispo County Civil Service Commission. She is a respected and sought after facilitator, Master of Ceremonies, media contributor and non-profit board member. Her service includes Rotary International, The Cuesta College Foundation, Land Conservancy, and Human Resources Association of Central Coast (past president).

Her experience in the corporate world, in theater, television and events prepared her to run her own business as well as your’s. Through these experiences, there is no question in her mind that she is on the right path. Working with businesses, and helping them do what they love is the best job she can imagine.
For the past 15 years she have managed multiple projects, volunteered in her community and built up a substantial network nationwide. Her passions include spending time with family, and friends, and if there’s anything else books and video games.
Natalie Stets has been a valued member of the Beth Wonson Consulting team since 2013. Natalie’s strength and expertise help bridge the gap between objective and implementation for clients through project management, strategy, organization and coordination.
Natalie’s facilitative leadership skills guide change by focusing on prioritization, consistent communication, collaboration and teamwork producing accelerated results. Her expertise has developed through fifteen years of leadership and coordination with organizations including New Frontiers Natural Marketplace, SLO Center for Family Strengthening, The LINK Family Resource Centers, the SLO GranFondo, Future of Work conference in partnership with the City of San Luis Obispo and the SLO Gang Prevention Conference.

Marci brings vast experience in improving communities and specializes in the areas of positive youth development, social services, law enforcement and corrections, justice and gang violence prevention. She has provided training for agencies across California.
